These Top-Rated Nike Shoe Deals Are Giving Prime Day a Run For Its Money

| 5 min read

  • Nike’s Summer Ready sale includes both shoes and apparel.
  • The sale applies to a variety of current generation running shoes, like the Alphafly 3 and Vomero Plus.
  • Using a stackable 20% off promo code, you can score deals over 40% off.

If you’re only shopping Amazon’s Prime Day sale, you’re missing out: Nike is in the midst of its Summer Ready sale, and there’s a whole spread of great deals on some of the brand’s best running shoes. Highlights include the cushy Vomero 18 for over 40 percent off and the Structure Plus, a superb choice for runners who like stable cushioning, at 35 percent off. And that’s just the start—I spotted discounts as high as 46 percent off, which is practically unheard of for a current-generation Nike running shoe.

Many shoes are marked down, and you can boost your savings even more by using the promo code SUMMER (good for an extra 20 percent off) at checkout. The prices below reflect the total sale price with the promo code applied. (Note: A few shoes don’t qualify for the code, and the code only applies to select colorways for some shoes.) Read on to see the best running shoe deals happening at Nike right now.

Nike Vomero 18

The Vomero 18 earned top honors in our Nike guide thanks to its comfort-focused design and do-it-all versatility—it can handle short jogs, long runs, and recovery days equally well. It’s designed around a new last that’s wider and more accommodating (a major bonus for those who hate the narrow fit typical of Nike shoes), and its ReactX and PEBA-based ZoomX midsole feels pillowy yet responsive. It earned lots of praise in our review process: One RW tester said, “Hands down, these are the best shoes I’ve tested.” Unfortunately for guys, they’re only 20 percent off in men’s sizes, but women can score a sweet 44 percent discount.

Best Super Stability Trainer

Nike Structure Plus

Nike Structure Plus

The Structure Plus, one of our favorite Nike shoes and favorite cushioned shoes, gives stability shoes the “super trainer” treatment. Instead of the ReactX foam found in the regular Structure, this Plus version features a double-layered design with ReactX on the bottom and bouncy, PEBA-based ZoomX foam on the top. Incredibly, it has more cushioning than the Structure yet is lighter, and the firm foam under the arch ensures your feet stay planted while running. It’s supportive, cushioned, and bouncy, and a fantastic bargain at this price.

Nike Alphafly 3

The Alphafly’s reputation as an elite racing shoe is firmly cemented at this point, and although other brands have introduced their own super shoes, it’s still a worthy choice for marathons. A hefty layer of ZoomX foam, dual Zoom Air units, and a carbon fiber plate help you maintain a blazing pace for longer distances, and the porous synthetic upper promotes cooling airflow as you race. Some colorways are even cheaper than $244, but sizing is limited.

Nike Pegasus Premium

The Peg Premium is a personal favorite of mine: I’ve had my pair for about two years, and while other shoes have come and gone, I keep holding onto these. Why? Its full-length Air Zoom unit, along with the layers of ReactX and ZoomX foams, creates a bouncy, propulsive ride that immediately impressed me when I first tried them—and now I’m hooked. Normally on the pricey side for a trainer, at $142 ($155 in women’s), this sale puts them on par with other brands’ workhorse shoes, but with notably better performance.

Nike Vomero Plus

The Vomero Plus earned the “Best Cushioning” title in our Nike guide—no small feat considering Nike is a leader in cutting-edge midsole foams. From top to bottom, this shoe goes all-in on comfort with a well-padded upper and a midsole composed entirely from PEBA-based ZoomX foam. While similar to the Vomero, the Vomero Plus’s tweaked design yields some notable performance improvements. In the words of RW editorial assistant Michael McDonough, it’s “lighter, cushier, and faster.”

Unlike Nike’s other trainers, the Pegasus Trail takes a minimalist approach to cushioning. It’s a lean, streamlined shoe that delivers lockdown grip and an exceptional fit. There’s plenty of room in the toe box, giving the shoe a stable, planted ride, but the upper creates a close wrap around your foot for a slip-free feel.

Nike Vaporfly 4

Although it now lives in the shadow of the vaunted Alphafly, the Vaporfly was Nike’s original super shoe, and it continues to earn its place in the lineup as a great choice for shorter distances. Compared to the AF3, the Vaporfly is “firmer and snappier,” as RW Runner-in-Chief Jeff Dengate described it in his review, which makes it well-suited for races up to half-marathon distance. Longer than that, and you’ll likely wish you had the AF3’s plusher cushioning under your feet. At nearly half off in both men’s and women’s sizes, however, the Vaporfly is easily the best value pick of the two.
